A closing chapter — Prima Ink (2019–2024)

Over the past five years, Prima Ink has welcomed a variety of artists in residence, creating a space for exchange, experimentation, and shared artistic processes in Tromsø.

During and especially after the COVID period, new forms of collaboration emerged. What began as a physical studio gradually evolved into a network of exchanges — projects, ideas, and connections extending beyond place.

In recent years, Prima Ink has developed meaningful collaborations and project exchanges between Tromsø, other part of Norway and Montréal.  These encounters have been deeply enriching — artistically and humanly — opening new perspectives on mobility, distance, and belonging.

This post gathers a selection of images from that time: fragments of processes, meetings, and moments that shaped this phase of Prima Ink.

Today, this chapter comes to an end.

Prima Ink is moving toward a new direction — more flexible, more open, and less rooted in a single physical space. The philosophy shifts from hosting to connecting, from structure to process, from place to movement.

What comes next will take different forms.
